🚨 Credit Union SA Members 🚨
🚨 2023 AGM Director Election 🚨
B Corp certification and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Please share this with Credit Union of SA members.
Today, Wednesday at 5.30pm is the CUSA AGM. Here is the information you need to join the AGM, to vote and ask questions (see below - highlights in yellow for suggestions).
This is our chance to potentially impact the future direction of Credit Union SA; to clearly tell them that we do not support B Corp Certification and United Nations' Sustainability Development Goals.

Questions in advance of the AGM
Members who wish to submit questions prior to the AGM must do so prior to 5.30pm (ACDT) on Wednesday 8 November 2023.
At the time of writing this email, the window for appointing proxies has closed, meaning in order to vote against any of the motions you will need to log in online and make your vote prior or join the AGM and vote electronically.
I also encourage you to ask (in your own words) questions using the online Q&A tab (https://cusa.verovoting.com.au/). Please note, they may ignore questions that are NOT more frequent questions, meaning if a few of us ask the same question, the question is more likely to be taken. And if the question is taken, the question is also aired for all attendees to hear the information contained in the question.
1. Issue 1- taken from Notice of AGM Meeting 2023
Constitutional Amendment 4, PART D
Amendments to facilitate potential application for B Corp certification
The Credit Union is committed to having a positive impact on society and the environment, and envisages that in due course it may seek certification as
a ‘B Corporation’ (or ‘B Corp’).
Questions could be asked include;
B Corp certification is aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in partnership with the United Nations. B Lab have developed a tool, the SDG Action Manager to measure progress towards the SDGs. Given that aligning the credit union to supporting an agenda re SDG’s, whose idea was it that CUSA is aligning itself to an unelected bureaucratic organisation, such as the UN for guidance and certification for having a positive impact on society and the environment? And how much is this appointment costing members?? Is it really necessary that for an undisclosed amount of money the board sought to create a position and appoint Dr Susan Stone, former OECD / UN employee for 7 years.
How do you know that members are supporting this initiative?
Other Issues.
Qu. CUSA Q:
I note in Appendix 1 - Objects, that CUSA aim “to have an overall positive impact on society and the environment”. Using the amendment 4 (d) to the CUSA constitution, it sounds like you are proposing to outsource the measurement of this object to the United Nations (UN), World Health Organisation (WHO) and the World Health Organization Economic Forum (WEF), through measuring performance against their Sustainable Development Goals and B-Corp Certification. These organisations are not local, they are international and not elected by any Australians let alone South Australians and account for no consensus or opinion of your members and customers. Why are you doing this? And how much of CUSA Membership money are you spending on this program including the appointment of Dr Sarah Stone? Can you provide a summary of the benefits CUSA members will get by investing Membership money on this initiative?
Qu. CUSA Q:
In Appendix 1 - Objects, one of the primary objects clearly states “to provide programs and services to members to assist them to meet their financial, economic and social needs. Are you aware that supporting the green agenda, as proposed and mandated by B-Corp certification, SDG’s and the UN is driving up costs of energy right now, and NOT helping your members meet their financial needs? SA has highest renewable penetration in Australia and highest wholesale power prices in Australia. If you, CUSA management have an alternate view, can you please provide the evidence to support your claim?
Qu. CUSA Q:
In Appendix 1 - Objects, it states “to further the interests of members and communities within which they work and live ……”.
The recent Optus outage that affected approximately 10 million Australians revealed the necessity for Australians to have unfettered access to cash (and cheques), ATMs and human staff in bricks and mortar branches in order to conduct business and go about their daily lives.
What did the CUSA Board and Management take away from this outage and the financial implications for our community? Will CUSA Board and Management confirm that cash will remain accessible to their members?
Examples of debanking are increasingly prevalent in Western nations. Does the Board and Executive Management team support the right of banks and credit unions to debank their customers, should their customers hold different political views to their bank or financial institution?
Significant numbers of South Australians are leaving the big 4 banks. Could CUSA, as a point of difference, offer their members quality local human service, bricks and mortar branches and conveniently located ATMs and unfettered access to cash?
Qu. CUSA Q:
Is the Board and/or Executive Management Team aware of the “New World Order” as promulgated by the UN through SDGs, the WEF through the “Great Reset” and the WHO through their One World Health policy and associated treaties? B Corp is the mechanism by which private companies are encouraged to sign up to UN agenda of Sustainable Development Goals. So why are CUSA proposing to facilitate an application for B Corp Certification?
These unelected, largely anonymous technocrats are leading the global charge toward public private partnerships that undermine national sovereignty, including that of Australia.
SDGs aim to curtail the excessive lifestyles of western developed nations, such as Australia, to bring them more in line with third world developing nations, to reduce our carbon footprint, energy expenditure and consumption of “luxury items” such as red meat, travel, especially by air, and home, land and small business ownership.
The WEF is well known for its slogan “you will own nothing and be happy”. They are working towards introducing a universal basic income to the citizens of the globe so that we can all be equally poor and equally happy. In the meantime, they promote the end of cash, Digital IDs and CBDCs paving the way forward towards their utopia. Their vision is the blurring of humans with computers. They seek to monitor, track and trace our every move so that the data we create can be monetized for their profit, analyzed by AI in real time to make the decisions our governments traditionally made.
It is worthy to note that the heads of these organisations travel via private jet whilst decreeing that the rest of us need to give up air travel in order to save the planet. They live by the creed of one rule for them and one rule for us. Is the Board and Executive Management of CUSA proposing to take CUSA and their members down the pathway of SDGs and the New World Order via B Corp Certification?
Qu. CUSA Q:
Does CUSA anti-discrimination policy include freedom of choice, free speech, consent, ownership private property, to life and to live peacefully?
It appears other banks are now using their own discretion to delay, block, freeze or refuse transactions, service or return funds if members are perceived to breach any Australian law, which may or may not contravene any constitutional rights or inalienable human rights. Are Credit Union SA intending to follow suit here?
